The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) organized the “TAT/TG Amazing New Chapters Mega FAM Trip” during which some 80 travel agents, media and Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) from across Asia and the South Pacific discover new tourism products and services offered in Chiang Mai and Phuket.
The trip runs from March 21 to April 2, 2022, with participants from Mongolia experiencing the familiarization trip program in Phuket from March 21 to 29. Meanwhile, participants from ASEAN – Cambodia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines and Vietnam; East Asia – Japan, South Korea and Taiwan; South Asia – Maldives, India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan, and South Pacific – Australia are on the program in Bangkok and Chiang Mai from March 28 to April 3.
Mr. Tanes Petsuwan, TAT Deputy Governor for International Marketing – Asia and South Pacific, said, “This familiarization trip is part of the tourism campaign ‘Visit Thailand Year 2022: Amazing New Chapters’, which aims to show that the Thailand is ready to welcome tourists again. At the same time, with Thailand reinstating the TEST&GO entry program from February 1, TAT is taking this valuable opportunity to proactively boost key markets in Asia and the South Pacific and boost tourism in the kingdom.
The “TAT/TG Amazing New Chapters Mega FAM Trip” project is particularly aimed at the market segments of digital nomads, responsible tourism and health and wellness in Asia and the South Pacific.
The strategically planned familiarization trip program will allow participants to update themselves on the multitude of tourism offerings in the destinations they visit, and thus better sell Thailand in their home markets.
Participating travel agents will also have the opportunity to meet over 40 Thai tour operators for business negotiations and hear key Thai tourism briefings at a workshop and tabletop sales event taking place. will be held in Chiang Mai on April 1. Handmade souvenirs and other products from local manufacturers will also be on sale at the event to further promote tourism and generate income for the local community.
